Regional Duty Officer

Our Regional Duty Officers are the vital link between the public and law enforcement. The work is challenging and crucial to maintaining public safety on Florida's streets and highways.

Regional Duty Officers receive calls from the public and dispatch troopers to crashes and other calls for service. They monitor trooper safety and provide any assistance a trooper may need.

Regional Duty Officers receive special training to become certified to access information stored in local, state, and federal criminal justice databases.

Regional Duty Officers work with troopers as well as other local, county, state, national, and international law enforcement agencies.

Salary:  $29,640.00 annually
(Palm Beach, Broward, Monroe: $30,908.76; Miami-Dade: $32,168.16)

Regional Duty Officer Qualifications

A high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of experience in radio-teletype operations, sworn law enforcement, dispatching, forestry, firefighting, or other public contact work. College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for the required experience. Experience as described above can substitute on a year for year basis for the required high school education.

Protective Service Workers - Non Sworn - L1

Our Driver Licenses Examiners serve on the front line helping to ensure that all Florida drivers are safe drivers. Examiners hold the key that enables the motoring public to drive Florida's streets and highways.

Driver Licenses Examiners determine eligibility for driver licenses, temporary licenses, and identification cards.

Driver Licenses Examiners receive comprehensive training to perform driving skills testing, detect fraudulent licenses, and assist the public with reinstating driving privileges.

Salary:  $23,181.72 annually

Knowledge of personal computers and typing. Ability to communicate effectively; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; perform basic mathematical calculations and deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
